I had to take a moment to write what will be one of two blogs coming this week since this one involves us getting a wonderful 13“ Snowfall on December 27! It has been a number of years since we last had holiday storm like this which is able to set us up for a great January of winter fun here in the Lakes Area! Over the last few years we have battled lackluster snow and it seemed like people were not getting very excited about a winter getaways to our area (and of course, Kavanaugh’s). We are hoping for a big change in that, especially since as we enter our 50th year of ownership here at the resort we have also introduced an amazing winter special to take us all the way to April 1, at least (we will continue to have other 50th Anniversary specials as well throughout the year). But, back to this winter! Great snow is at hand and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, and so much more, will be at its very best! The Brainerd and Nisswa areas are such great places in the winter with many fun events going on and we sure would love to see all of you come on up and take advantage of something a little different, and certainly more relaxed. Oh, another thing, of late we have been taking advantage of our local micro-breweries and recently had a great time at Jack Pine Brewery with their 18 fantastic different pours. Jack Pine (www.jackpinebrewery.com) is great because it is family friendly and either allows you to bring some food with to enjoy with your favorite beer or to order from local restaurants and have it delivered….just a lot of fun and super friendly staff.
